Welcome to Wild at Art Studio

A creative sanctuary in the heart of Hong Kong

How Can We Help You?

The Wild at Art Team

Welcoming you to a beautiful sanctuary in the heart of Central, Hong Kong Island, a magical space that brings together dreaming, creativity, art therapy, art teaching and personal development.

Created by Wild at Art Founder, Katie Flowers, the studio has been home to various art and wellness workshops for almost 5 years. Katie is a long term Art Educator in Hong Kong and Registered Art Therapist. She offers individual Art Therapy sessions for adults and children as well a range of Art and Wellness Workshops in the studio, the community, schools and in the corporate space.

Katie is also joined by Lucy Parris as Artist in Residence at the Studio. Lucy has been leading Thursday workshops at the studio for a year she is a master teacher whose personal Art Work and classes focus on Hong Kong as her muse in all its street scenes, details, shop fronts and iconic artefacts, her classes offer people ways to depict these and develop all kinds of skills along the way.

This is in perfect complement to Katie’s workshops which to focus upon YOU, your stories, dreams, wishes, insights, ways to calm, centre and focus and ways to heal through mixed media artmaking work of all kinds.

So Lucy and Katie have you covered whatever kind of art path you would like to take!

Helping you to express your inner world as well as the world all around you.

Art Workshops

Wild at Art workshops are designed with a focus on emotional health, well-being and creative self-care. Some workshops offer mindful art making opportunities, others help people explore stories which can help to re frame challenges, develop new perspectives and discover personal insights. Sign up to join our regular groups as well as our ongoing special events.

Printmaking

From simple linocuts to drypoint etching, collagraphs and Japanese woodcut, Lucy has a passion for printmaking. Whether it is learning a new technique on a taught course or practising what you have learned by coming along to open print studio sessions you will discover the endless possibilities and exciting and  often unexpected results that printmaking has to offer. The studio is equipped with a free standing printing press and a full range of non-toxic water based inks.

Art Therapy

Art therapy is provided for groups or individuals depending on clients' needs. Art therapy takes place within a counselling conversation where artwork is created to explore a specific topic or in response to a directive or an emergent issue which might arise. This expression helps people to find balance, manage stress, depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues.

Watercolour

Watercolour is a beautiful colourful way of capturing the world around you. Lucy offers classes that will introduce you to working with this versatile medium whether you are new to watercolours or have some experience using them. Working from still life subjects in the studio and in an urban sketching situation you will learn the techniques of Watercolour from applying washes to layering and using them with pen and ink. You will be encouraged to develop your own style.

Art Services

Organisations are increasingly recognizing the need to provide staff with a range of wellness opportunities to help them maintain a healthy relationship with themselves, reduce stress, and avoid workplace burn out. Wellness programs demonstrate to employees that their health is important and that their employers know and care about this aspect of work life.

Drawing and sketching

A dedicated urban sketcher, Lucy loves to draw the world around her and is passionate about sharing her enthusiasm with others. Her courses combine a mixture of studio sessions in which specific drawing techniques are taught and on-site urban sketching outings which give students the chance to draw at interesting Hong Kong locations.  Skills will build gradually throughout the classes and students will learn how to choose their materials and develop their own drawing style

What People Are Saying

“Wild at Art found me at a time when I didn’t know I was searching. I learned that I get strength from being in a room creating side by side with other women, sharing our journey. I found that sometimes I would just listen and some days I would share. Wild at Art is my happy place It feels safe and welcoming and friendly and for the time I am there each week, my mind is nowhere else.  I have escaped the outside world ! ”

Ilene Levy

Thank you so much for sharing your time and talent with the Peak School students, Katie! We all thoroughly enjoyed your visit. Taking time to breathe and do some mindful designing was just what our students needed. You have provided them tools that they can use not only for harnessing their creativity but also for managing their emotions through these challenging times. Many thanks!”

Chiqui Colet

“I so enjoy Katie’s workshops! Using the different materials, paints and textures to explore my creative side is beyond fun, it’s uplifting and sometimes eye opening ;) Katie is warm and welcoming, supportive when you need and gives you space too, lovely lady, being in Katie’s beautiful studio is a pleasure in itself. Highly recommend any workshops here, even if you don’t consider yourself to be creative… It’s more about the journey than the outcome.”
